THE POSITION

Andreas Coucounis & Co LLC (“Coucounis”) is looking for knowledge-motivated and skills-motivated Law School graduates to join its Law Firm as Trainee Lawyers at its offices in Larnaca.

Traineeships at Coucounis have been taking place for more than 50 years and the lawyers’ team at Coucounis is eager to provide an excellent opportunity for Law graduates to make the most of their traineeship year and become well-trained lawyers with a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Each legal trainee is assigned to a partner in our law firm who monitors the daily progress of the trainee, gives regular feedback, provides guidance and challenges the way of viewing legal problems. Each legal trainee will:

  • Learn and abide by the Code of Conduct issued by the Cyprus Bar Association;
  • Be given the opportunity to explore a number of areas of law;
  • Undertake to draft contracts;
  • Undertake to do legal research and resolve problems based on the legal research;
  • Appear in Court and handle cases;
  • Undertake to draft pleadings in many areas of law;
  • Undertake to prepare court documents for court hearings;
  • Appear before government authorities to carry out various tasks, e.g. obtain tax releases for conveyancing cases;
  • Learn how to use i-justice as well as the Companies Registrar electronic system;
  • Attend client meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should satisfy the following:

  • Be holders of a Law Degree;
  • Be proficient in Greek and English;
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office tools;
  • Have the ability to work in a team.
