Our firm Varnavas Playbell & Co. LLC is seeking to recruit a Trainee Lawyer to join our team in Limassol.

We are a specialty law firm, focusing on corporate and commercial matters of law and all related and ancillary fields. Indicatively, our practice focuses on the traditionally defined areas of: corporate, commercial, merger & acquisitions, banking & finance and the niche of financial services, namely advising on the regulatory, corporate and commercial aspects concerning alternative investment funds and investment firms.

 

Requirements:

  1. Must be a holder of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree; LLM (Master of Laws) or LPC (The Legal Practice Course) should be considered as an advantage.
  2. Self-motivated and able to provide support to Legal Department;
  3. Excellent command of the English and Greek Language. Additional language will be considered as an advantage;
  4. Team player and career driven.
  5. Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  6. Pleasant and dynamic personality; and
  7. Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide support and assistance on various legal matters, including legal research; 
2. Preparation of applications to the Cyprus Registrar of Companies (name approval, company incorporation, change of shareholder/ director/ secretary/ trade-names), Intellectual Property Department, Land Registry and other authorities, including governmental and non-governmental organisations;   
3. Dealing with various government authorities, such as the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, Central Bank of Cyprus, Land Registry and the Tax Department;;
4. Drafting of legal letters, notices, affidavits and other corporate internal documentation;
5. Assisting with due diligence and AML procedures on the onboarding of clients;
